Vednesday: Sandi Calistro
Hey, it's Vednesday again! That was quick, wasn't it? LadyV here again to introduce another talented artist that you'll fall in love with!
Today I wanted feature a local artist that I am absolutely in love with... Sandi Calistro. She currently resides in my town, Denver, and works as a tattoo artist at Kaze Gallery. Her art features mostly women (you know how I am about that) that seem to be in some state of mourning and sadness. The pieces are incredibly moving to me and are sometimes delightfully creepy. Her unique style transforms every regular day into El Dia de los Muertos.

Artist Bio:
Sandi was born in New Britain, Connecticut where her love for painting and art has been with her since childhood. After graduating in 1997 in Naples, Maine she made her way mid-west to Denver, Colorado. She adores being a custom tattoo artist where she can exercise her talent beyond painting on trusting individuals. As an avid animal lover Sandi incorporates them into her paintings on occasion. Women have always been the focus of most of her paintings. The beauty, flow and character of women have intrigued her for as long as she can remember.

I plan on getting a tattoo with Sandi hopefully spring of next year... I am going to go with a full back piece peacock that I think she will be able to make AMAZING. Hopefully I'll be able to update you with a great picture when that time comes, but until then, here is a sample of some of her tattoo work.
